Outer Space presents:
Darker

Discovery Park
On January 28, 2017, under a giant old large leaf maple tree in the middle of Discovery Park, Nat Evans created Darker, an immersive sound environment comprised of spare, meditative tones derived from gongs and found resonant metal objects with the intention of creating greater awareness among participants while allowing the natural sounds of the park and city to blend seamlessly with the score. Attendants were instructed to contact Nat when they arrived at the parking lot, at which point he would walk down the trail to receive them and guide them back up the trail with the light of his lantern. Once at the site, guests were served hot ginger tea and a candle, as the piece accompanied the transition from sunset to night.
